Nothing leaves your device.

Typesetter collects nothing, sends nothing and has no server. This page exists because the App Store requires one, not because there is much to say.

What is collected

Nothing. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting that leaves the device, no advertising identifier and no account.

What the app stores, and where

• Your documents. They are plain Markdown files in folders you chose. The app reads and writes them in place and never copies them anywhere.
• A security-scoped bookmark per folder, which is how macOS and iOS let an app reach a folder you picked. It stays on the device that made it.
• Your settings, your pins, your recent documents and the cursor position per document, in the app's own Application Support folder.
• A diagnostics file, written on the device and never sent anywhere, holding what the app was doing recently. It records folder names, never their paths, because a path carries a home directory and therefore a person's name.

Network

The app makes no network connection of any kind. The math renderer, the diagram renderer and the syntax highlighter are inside the app rather than fetched from a content delivery network, and the Mac app ships without the network entitlement, which is what makes that checkable rather than a claim.

Purchases

The unlock is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your payment details, your name or your Apple Account. We are told whether this device is entitled to the unlock, and nothing else.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anybody, including children.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page changes with it and the app's release notes will say so in the same words.
