Typesetter

Support

Write to a person.

There is no ticket system and no chatbot. Mail hello@high5labs.com and a person reads it. Say which app (Mac or iPhone), what you were doing, and what happened instead.

Your documents are not in here

Typesetter never holds your files. They are plain Markdown in the folder you chose, and they stay there whatever happens to the app, the purchase or this company. If something has gone wrong, your writing is still in the Finder or the Files app where you left it. Check there first: it is almost always the fastest fix.

Things that come up

The purchase is not showing on my other device

The unlock is a universal purchase, so buying it on the Mac unlocks the iPhone and the iPad, and the reverse. Both devices have to be signed in to the same Apple Account. In Settings, choose Restore Purchase; that asks Apple again and costs nothing.

A folder stopped opening after a restart

macOS and iOS grant an app access to a folder you picked, and that grant can be withdrawn by the system. Remove the folder from the sidebar and add it again. Nothing in the folder is touched by either step.

I see a conflicted copy

Two devices wrote the same file before sync caught up. Typesetter never overwrites silently: it writes the other version alongside yours as Name (conflicted copy …).md and shows a banner. Open both, keep what you want, delete the other.

The preview is blank on my Mac

That is the system's web view failing to start rather than the app. Quitting and reopening Typesetter fixes it; restarting the Mac fixes it for good. The app says so in a banner rather than showing you an empty pane with no explanation.

Reporting something

Typesetter writes a diagnostics file on the device and never sends it anywhere. Settings has a button that reveals it. It records folder names, never their full paths, so it does not carry your home directory or your name. Attaching it to an email makes a bug about ten times faster to find.

Refunds

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too: reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not told who bought the app and cannot issue one from this end.

Accessibility

Full keyboard access and VoiceOver are supported throughout, including a rotor that steps through a document's headings. If something is unreachable or unreadable, that is a bug and it gets fixed like any other. Mail hello@high5labs.com.
